Gracie McIntyre Mysteries

Book 1: Death in Glenville Falls

Finalist for both a Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Award

and a Next Generation Indie Book Award

Early September is a time for new beginnings in a college town, and Gracie McIntyre braces for hers.

Gracie left the practice of law eighteen years ago, after losing a client to an apparent murder/suicide. Since then, she’s been a stay-at-home mom and part-time professor at the local college. Now that her son has gone off to university and her daughter has started high school, she is ready for a new adventure. But opening a new-and-used book shop gives her more than she bargains for.

Days after her grand opening, she finds a threatening message outside her door. When she refuses to heed its warning, violence escalates. What’s worse, she suspects a police officer might be the culprit. She soon realizes she’s on her own to find a way to save her store—and possibly her life.

Featuring a cast of eccentric characters, and bringing together a love of books, New England charm, and the challenge of a good puzzle, DEATH IN GLENVILLE FALLS will keep you turning pages right up to the surprising conclusion.

What readers are saying about Death in Glenville Falls

A book you can't put down! by mysteryluvr

Loved this first in a series! Characters were relatable, and I enjoyed the family dynamic. The mystery kept me guessing and I can't wait for the next book!

Great Cozy Read! by A. M. Hamilton

Death in Glenville Falls.  is exactly what a cozy should be. A small town location, with all the small town squabbles and tensions, but at it's heart, the kindness and empathy of the main character is what makes this story stand out. So many novels recently seemed to be filled with unlikable characters who are narcissistic and mean. This story with its characters who have realistic troubles and conflicts and yet always an underlying goodness is refreshing. The story unfolds in a leisurely fashion, letting the reader become immersed in the intrigues of the town, and with a subtle feeling of danger as the mystery unfolds. A great cozy read.

Loved it! by Carol B.

Loved this book! Enjoyed it from beginning to end . Love the writer's style. Great debut; looking forward to the next Gracie McIntyre adventure.

Good cozy--cat and bookstore a bonus. by Malena

I enjoy a good cozy mystery, especially one set in a bookstore, with a cat on the cover. The story was an intriguing puzzle and I wanted to know what was going on with those dodgy police officers. The characters were believable and their motivations seemed genuine. I look forward to reading the next in the series.

Great Mystery by R.H.

I enjoyed this debut cozy mystery set in my favorite place, a bookstore. The sleuth in this book is a lawyer turned bookstore owner named Gracie McIntyre. After her son, Ben, goes off to college and her daughter, Carrie, starts high school, Gracie decides to open up a bookstore in Glenville Falls, a small, New England, college town. Until a few set backs happen. The story is very good and well written. The mystery also done well. I also liked the characters and the setting.

Spunky main characters and a great cast of supporting characters by A. G.

A new bookstore, a cold murder case, a quaint New England town, a spunky main characters and a great cast of supporting characters, who could ask for anything more. I enjoyed this new mystery a great deal and look forward to book 2. . . .

Great Read by Amazon Customer

What a wonderful realistic book. Was so nice to read a story where the main character is a mature woman with a happy marriage.

A Great Story by bobbie

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were believable and well thought out especially Gracie. I liked that she was not perfect, had a temper, but was reasonable in her approaches and thoughts. There was good suspense and figuring out who the culprit was was not easy. I couldn't put it down. Looking forward to her next story!

A Christmas on Nantucket

and other stories

A CHRISTMAS ON NANTUCKET AND OTHER STORIES, includes several of my favorite short stories. Many are ones I've had published in award-winning anthologies. While some have a holiday theme, all are tales of love and loss, joys and sorrows, and a bit of mystery and magic. While this collection is a great accompaniment to the holidays (and makes a terrific gift), as it takes you through the year, I hope it will touch your heart, perhaps inspire you, and occasionally give you a chuckle. I think you will enjoy these tales as much as I have enjoyed bringing them to you.

Sandwiched between two Christmas stories, A Christmas on Nantucket and A Visit From Belsnickel, Carol L. Wright offers fifteen additional tales of mystery, magic, and the love of home for her readers to enjoy. My personal favorite was The Man From Hooverville, but every story was a reading treasure. Thanks, Carol, for this great book
